Gathering around the punch bowl is a Christmas cocktails tradition in the South, but there's nothing wrong with keeping a batch of this ginger pineapple punch in the fridge even when you're not hosting a bunch of guests for holiday drinks.
Duplin red Christmas Wine adds berry sweetness to tangy pineapple juice and snappy ginger ale in this blend named Ronnie's Christmas Red Punch. It was created by Duplin bartender and longtime Duplin friend Ronnie. His secret ingredient is a dash of almond extract to soften the punch's flavor and give the drink a little something-something.
Ronnie likes to keep this punch in a drink dispenser fitted with a spigot. He puts the dispenser in the refrigerator so that imbibers can help themselves whenever they want. Just put a cup under spigot and pour. That's also a handy way to quickly share a drink when a neighbor pops with a gift of Christmas cookies.
