Battle of the Fall Pitcher Drinks: Apple Cider Sangria vs. Apple Cider Margarita
Fall is the season for simple fall cocktails made in big batches. Everyone has an opinion about which drinks are best for Halloween, college bowl games, the Super Bowl, Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving. So we put two top-rated pitcher drinks to the test in our Battle of the Fall Pitcher Drinks: Apple Cider Sangria vs. the Apple Cider Margartia.
Both of these drinks have fall apple appeal. They're both super easy to make. And either one makes a crowd-pleasing batch. All of which made it hard for our judges to pick a winner.
First up, the Apple Cider Margarita. A classic margarita with an apple cider twist and a fizzy splash of Duplin Orange Blossom, all served in a cinnamon-sugar-rimmed glass. Potent. Tangy sweet. The amber-orange hue of every perfect fall day.
Next up, Apple Cider Sangria. To start, apple, pear and orange chunks, plus a cinnamon stick, macerate in Duplin American Port until they are infused with sweet, caramelly flavor. Duplin Pum'kin red — only available while it lasts in fall — or Duplin Burgundy go into the pitcher, right over the port and fruit. Then comes apple cider. The combination is a fruity delight with a spice punch that keeps your team happy from tailgate season through the holidays and, heck, right up until the first warm day of spring.
So which of these drinks is the winner? Honestly, in a head-to-head match up, our judges could not agree. So it's up to you. Make them both. Put them to a vote with your friends and family. Let us know how the competition shakes out.
