Last-minute Spiced Wine Punch for Christmas Eve

The frenzy begins exactly seven days before Christmas. A festive spirit sets in and suddenly you want to have a party. This is the perfect time to plan a Christmas Even open house with a big bowl of cinnamon-infused Open House Spiced Wine Punch.

With folks rushing about on Christmas Eve, an open house is an ideal way to give them a break and light refreshments that won't dampen their holiday drive to do everything and see everyone before they head home for the night. Cinnamon-infused Duplin Christmas Wine cut with cranberry juice has a kick that's just right.

Start Open House Spiced Wine Punch a day or two ahead by dropping a cinnamon stick into a bottle of Duplin Christmas Wine and letting it sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours. That's the most time you'll spend on this tasty drink. The rest of the ingredients go right into the punch bowl or table-top dispenser. A garnish of fresh cranberries and lime slices adds more Christmas color. Make a batch of this punch to freeze in a large bowl if you want to ice the punch.

If you're nestled in for the day or have leftover punch, bump up the drink with regular or flavored vodka. Vanilla, cranberry or orange vodka work especially well.
