Get ready to sparkle! New Southern Mist arrives in May

This is Duplin Winery’s new Southern Mist, a finely carbonated white wine coming in May 2023.

Southern Mist is the second of Duplin’s first-in-the-world muscadine-moscato blends. For years prior to the first Muscadine-Moscato, released in December 2022, Duplin was focused on how to get more sunshine in a bottle. “Sunshine is what helps make grapes sweet,” said Dave Fussell, who runs family-owned Duplin Winery with his brother, Jonathan Fussell.

To capture the pure grape sweetness and delicate allure the brothers had in mind, Duplin winemakers turned to moscato, a Nielsen-reported top 10 U.S. varietal celebrated for its smooth character.

Dave Fussell called original Muscadine-Moscato “the best wine we’ve ever made, hands down.” Now, wine lovers who like a little fizz get their own version of this truly unique wine. Although Southern Mist is also a muscadine-moscato blend, the white wine radiates its own special personality.  

Southern Mist will only be available at duplinwinery.com and at Duplin Winery locations. You cannot purchase this wine in supermarkets or at other retailers that sell wine.
