Recipe: Hatteras Red Hot

Ingredients:
  • 1 or 2 fresh jalapeño peppers
  • 1 bottle Duplin Hatteras Red wine
Directions:
  1. Wash jalapeño peppers and remove their stems.
  2. Slice jalapeños into ¼-inch-thick rings.
  3. Uncork wine. Drop sliced jalapeños directly into the bottle. Replace cork and refrigerate wine overnight.
  4. Serve wine in shot glasses if you would like to pass around samples at a party. You could also pour the wine directly over ice. For a fizzy drink, place ice in a 12-ounce glass. Fill the glass halfway with sparkling water or a lemon-lime soda such as Sprite. Fill the glass the rest of the way full with the jalapeño-infused wine. Garnish with candied jalapeños, if desired and serve with a straw.
  5. Makes 1 bottle of wine.
