Red, White & Boom

Stars and stripes inspire this part cocktail, part dessert delight. Layers of vanilla milkshake infused with Duplin Piña Colada wine; Blueberry Freeze Sweetzer wine slushie; and fresh, sliced strawberries, all topped with fluffy whipped cream beg a spoon and straw. Red, white and blue candy stars sprinkled on top are the finishing touch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened slightly
  • 3 cups Duplin Piña Colada wine (divided use)
  • 1 packet Blueberry Freeze Sweetzer wine slushie mix
  • 3 to 4 cups of ice
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 3 cups fresh whole fresh raspberries and/or sliced strawberries
  • Whipped cream
  • Red and/or blue sprinkles

Directions:

  • Place ice cream and 1 cup of Duplin Piña Colada wine in a blender container. Whizz on high speed until smooth. Fill 4 pint glasses one-third full with ice cream mixture. Place glasses in freezer until mixture in glasses is firm.
  • Wash blender container and add Blueberry Freeze Sweetzer mix and remaining 2 cups of Duplin Piña Colada wine to the blender container. Whizz at low speed for 10 seconds. Add frozen blueberries and fill blender container with ice. Whizz at high speed until slushy.
  • Remove pint glasses with ice cream mixture from the freezer. Fill glasses two-thirds full with Blueberry Freeze Sweetzer blend, leaving a 3-inch space at the top of the glass.
  • Mound fresh berries into glasses. Top berries with a small dollop of whipped cream. Scatter sprinkles lightly over cream. Serve with a straw and a tall spoon.
