Barbecue bacon-wrapped hot dogs air-fried or oven-baked

If ever there was a perfect match, it's bacon and hot dogs. Get these two together with the right barbecue sauce and you'll never go back to plain mustard and ketchup again.

We didn't just wrap our dogs in any old bacon. We marinated that bacon overnight in Duplin Gourmet Muscadine Carolina Mustard Barbecue Sauce and Duplin Gourmet Muscadine Barbecue Sauce.

Once the bacon was fully infused with the flavor of these must-have summer barbecue sauces, we wrapped the strips around the hot dogs. You could cook the bacon-wrapped beauties on a medium-hot grill, but we just popped them into the air fryer. The recipe works in a conventional oven, too.

The dogs come out kind of crispy and loaded with flavor. Put them on buns with grilled onions, roasted peppers and raw sweet onions. Finish with a generous layer of shredded cheddar cheese before running the dogs in their buns under the broiler until the cheese is bubbly.
