Duplin Hot Toddy
The classic hot toddy is the easiest drink you can make, but there's one problem with the traditional recipe: it calls for water. Well, we fixed that by using wine instead. Hot toddies are usually made with honey, lemon, whiskey and water. For this improved recipe, use Duplin Carlos or Duplin Cotton Candy Lime in place of the water. You're welcome.
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces whiskey
- 2 cups Duplin Carlos or Cotton Candy Lime white wine
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 round lemon slices
Directions:
- Pour 2 ounces of whiskey into each of two large mugs. Set aside.
- Gently heat the Duplin Carlos wine in a saucepan over medium-high heat. When wine is hot, stir in honey.
- Remove pan from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice.
- Pour half of the heated wine into one mug. Pour the remaining heated wine into the other mug.
- Drop a cinnamon stick into each mug. Float a lemon slice in each drink.
- Makes 2 servings.
