Mulled Wine Slushie

Every fall in the Carolinas, you never know whether to put on shorts with a tee or jeans with a flannel. The weather is that fickle. We understand the struggle, so we created a special fall drink that makes the best of both chilly mornings and toasty afternoons. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Duplin Muscadine Cider, room temperature
  • 2 cups of Duplin Hatteras Red or Duplin Pum’kin wine, room temperature
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup Duplin Mulling Spices mix
  • ½ cup Electric Lemonade Sweetzer mix
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 6 ounces spiced rum (optional)
  • 8 orange slices
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix Muscadine Cider, Duplin Hatteras Red or Duplin Pum’kin, orange juice, Duplin Mulling Spices and Electric Lemonade Sweetzer mix. Pour mixture into ice cube trays. Freeze trays for at least 4 hours or until wine mixture is completely frozen.
  2. Transfer frozen wine cubes to a blender container. Fill remainder of container with ice (approximately 2 cups). Add spiced rum if using. Cover and blend until slushie & ice chips are very fine.
  3. Pour drink into wine glasses. Garnish glass with a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick.
  • Makes 6-8 servings.
