Pork Chops with Pumpkin Wine Sauce

Quick and easy weeknight meals don't have to be take-out or another rotisserie chicken. One pan is all you need to make these delectable pork chops and the pumpkin wine sauce that goes with them. They’re especially delicious with no-fuss baked sweet potatoes and a simple green salad with your favorite dressing.  You could also try this recipe with your favorite Duplin wine.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, center-cut pork chops, each no less than 1/2-inch thick
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 of a large, sweet onion, minced
  • 1 cup Duplin Pum'kin red wine

Directions:

  1. Season pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium-heat. When pan is hot, add olive oil. 
  3. When oil has heated, add pork chops.
  4. Cook pork chops over medium heat until browned on both sides and cooked through.
  5. Transfer the pork chops from the pan to a seving platter and keep warm.
  6. Return pan to the heat.
  7. Add minced onions to the plan and cook over medium heat until onions have browned.
  8. When onions have browned, add the wine to the pan. Bring wine to a simmer. Cook until wine sauce thickens slightly, about 2-4 minutes.
  9. Remove pan from heat and spoon sauce over pork chops.
  10. Makes 2 to 4 servings, depending on size of chops.
